The Making of Tomorrow Never Dies, by Gareth Pearce. London, Boxtree, 1997.
![[Making of Tomorrow Never Dies book cover]](covers/make_tnd.jpg) Oversized, 119 pages of mostly color photos from the film. There are chapters on the script and early production problems, lengthy cast profiles, Costume and Make-up (Samantha Bond as Moneypenny "liked Clinique make-up and a MAC lipstick, with a more updated, slightly cheeky look"), Design, Direction and Special Effects, Secrets of the Car Chase, among others. The funniest part is a chapter called "James Bond: The Pain and the Glory," with subheadings of "Brosnan: the Injury," "Brosnan: The Day," "Brosnan: the Diet," "Brosnan: the Look" and "Brosnan: the Work-out". Two of the last three appear rather ironic, as Pierce has put on a good bit of unflattering weight since GoldenEye. Don't even get me going on that Eddie Munster hair style (which was apparently specified by director Roger Spottiswoode)...
